I am considering a Versatile 160 tractor. I don't know a whole lot about them & needed some helpful input/suggestions. Are they any good? Any known problems with them I need to be aware of? Are parts hard to find & who can work on them? Any other info you can provide is extremely helpful!! I am looking for something that I can move round bales & also push snow. Will this work for me? Thanks

Also would like to know what something like this is worth? It is 1982 model 160 with 3300 hours.

They're one of the earlier bi-directional tractors after the 150. The seat and steering wheel turn 180 degrees so you never have to go backwards. I believe they have a 3 speed hydrastatic trans but could be wrong. They are a good tractor and 3300 is low hours. Since Ford bought out Versatile and then got bought again, I think parts should be available. I think they came with a Perkins engine and most were equipped with a loader and 3 pt. hitch. Hope this helps. Dave

a couple of places to look at are the pins where the tractor steers and where the axle mounts under the engine. these are high wear places on these tractors. parts are available at New Holland dealers.
