Be polite, have all the proof and paper work on hand. Then go higher up the corporate food chain.

sounds like the air filter was not installed correctly at its last service and dusted the engine.

Go to Smallenginewarehouse.com and this place sells new engines for garden tractors, I think you could get a new motor cheaper then a rebuild, I agree that 89 hours is nothing and that the motor was a lemon.

What motor does it have?

I would think you can buy a new motor cheaper than that.

Took a 12 hp kohler motor out of a grasshopper and put in a new 16 hp and it was $1300 for the new motor.

Took about 3 hrs to replace.
