Friend has just come on a shingle mill made in Orange Mass. by the Orange Co. Does anyone have any information on this. It looks to be mostly complete, but some parts are rusted and need to be freed up. It hasn't run in 20 years and some parts need love and attention. We don't know much about how it should work. I have seen shingle mills run and understand how they function, just not familiar with the details of it. I suppose a manual is out of the question but maybe someone might have one that could be copied? The guy who has it loves old equipment and has a front yard full of it on display, all painted up looking good, some of it runs, some doesn't. He seems to be undecided about the mill, will it be a runner or just a looker on display. I would love to get it or at least get to take it to shows now and then.

That would be Chase Machine Co in Orange, MA. They also made sawmills for many years, now out of business. Two of the former owners live here in town. Email me, and if they are willing, I'll send names and phone numbers.
