larry...just saw the weather forecast, s'pose to be around 50 here today. i expect to see that red plume in the northeast sky later. good day to do it too...south wind will carry all that dust away from me...got enuf of my own.

had planned to get the to-20 in the shop today, but the wife has come up with a different plan. now she's decided that all that new trim can be painted in my nice warm shop. there WOULD be room for both the tractor and the trim...if part of my shop wasn't already taken up with "her" parade float thing she made me build for her two weeks ago. i didn't realize it was gonna be stored there until the parade. my space is being invaded!! what do i do now? where do i go to hide? do you think this is part of an evil scheme of hers to push me out of my shop and back into the house? i know i know...you got no sympathy right?

i hope one of us gets to work on their tractor today. let me know if you get any cleaning done on your chassis....looks like i'll have to have fun vicariously thru you.

-mike

Hey Mike,

Looks like we both struck out today. I finally get a decent day to work on it and I feel like a tractor ran over me! I think my granddaughter donated that "little cold" she had. The county schools closed a couple of days to allow the flu absenteeism to get better. (Note: they get state money based on the attendance, so it is a bad money day when too many are out). My granddaughter chose to come and stay with me. Now she feels great and I feel terrible.

I would go ahead and fight the rust battle, but if my chest cold got any worse I would never hear the last of it from my wife. Women have a way of convincing you that your decison-making process is proof that the Neanderthals didn"t become extinct - we just changed our physical appearance and kept our little brains.

I think your wife has hit on the ultimate plan - if you want to work in your shop on your stuff, you will have to complete her project first. Besides, control of available space and temperature are two areas that women accept as their devine right to rule. So I guess we will both postpone our projects for a day or so.

I think I will light the fireplace and go feel sorry for myself.

-2 now is supposed to get all the way to +20 today with snow up to 7" starting this evening . If we get that much will be most in years . I live in Western WV , we don't normally get a lot of snow . Eastern part of WV , "Dolly Sods" is on the Allegheny Front about 4000' above sea level , and some years they get over 200" . The Wives have a way of taking over our play pens . Has happened to me a few times just get used to it . Their projects are always more important than ours or so they think . Just relax and go with the flow .

Its gonna get warm here today also.

Its +3 here now and going clear up to +8 today.

But its snowing right now 3 to 5" predicted.

Did you ever wonder what your ancestors saw in living in Iowa?

Your ancestors probably sold their wagons to buy food, the horses were stolen by the cattle rustlers, and the railroads came and took all the good land, and left the bad stuff for them! Here in W. Pennsylvania, its so cold the thermometers are so low we can't read them, the school busses won't start, because of the new low sulphur fuel, and if they do start, they only run a mile or so, and konk out! We're hunkerin' down in the house. Got 2 furnaces running, hopefully it will warm up soon!

Considering where my ancestors came from, Iowa probably seemed a bit warmer.
