I needed a clutch release bearing, for my John Deere. I have three JD dealers in my area. one priced the bearing at around 53.00, the other at about 42.00, the third dealer, the same bearing was 29.00, and the same brand as original. I would think the dealers would keep the parts around the same price. Don't they know people shop for the best price? At least I do. Stan

Hi Stan;
How are you?
I worked for a JD dealer some years ago and helped in the stores sometimes (was salesman normally on the road. In England the JD dealers have three methods of ordering spares.
1 - Monthly stock order for higher discount
2 - Normal delivery 2-3 days, less discount
3 - VOF (vehicle off road) panic overnight order with no discount & carriage charges.
Your cheapest dealer may just have had this part in stock for a while and wants to move it on at a special price to get his money back.
Cheers David

Wish I had 2 or 3 dealers to compare prices. In my area the 7 closest stores are under 1 ownership.

Just because the sign reads the same doesn't mean the people or operations are the same. Experience speaking.

Hey LB that's the way it is in my area. And the dealer most convient for me doesn't care if you buy anything or not,so I go to the ones that are more helpful.
