larry...finally dragged myself down to the shop today to try and start the to-20. looks like that 3 year retirement she took is gonna cause me a little work. i have the carb soaking in carb cleaner now, the float is stuck open...gas all over the place. not a good thing when you have a woodburner in the same shop. and it looks like a trip to town for a new battery. but she rolls over and seems to have good compression and vacuum...(i pulled all the plugs and squirted some oil in each cylinder, and did the old "finger test" in each plug hole as i rolled it over)

i decided to try that new nanotech. block sealer by CRC, but i have to get her running before i can do the process. drained all the old gas out and put clean oil in...just need a working carb float and a little spark and she'll fire right up...right? she ran when i pulled her in the pole barn three years ago, so why not?

do any de-rusting today? i can't tell...wind is out of the south.

Ah, I keep procrastinating. I guess I am hoping for a little warmer weather so that I can open the door and blow the darn red cloud outside. I did work a little today, though. I got the front wheels sanded and primed and should get them painted tomorrow. I think having to backtrack on the head caused me to get a lazy streak.

I guess we were thinking in the same direction as far as worrying about a fire. This past weekend, I picked me up a couple of small fire extinguishers in case I do something stupid and get careless. I had my son"s te20 out running it about a month ago and when I put it back in the storage shed the float must have stuck and all of a sudden I have gas leaking out around a warm engine inside a small wooden building. That just isn"t a good feeling at all.

If I have faith that my 20 is gonna fire up when I get it put back together (after it sat in the woods for five years), I see no reason for yours to give you any problem at all! That"s whats fun about these old tractors - they make optimists out of all of us.

Larry

well gary...it's like this. i can usually figure out how to do things with a wrench and screwdriver...but posting pics on this forum is like deciphering latin for me. i'll have to wait til my kid can do it for me because (in the words of "farmall-A boy") i'd be like...ahhhhh ....
