Question for all the electric under ground dog fence owners.Did anyone ever replace the wimphy under groung wire with a higher gauge wire and if so what gauge and was it stranded or solid?Had the fence for a few years now and starting to get breaks, pain in the arse to find.

I have a stretch of property line that I only mow every four or five years. Last summer I ran over the neighbors dog wire that was on my side of the fieldstone wall. He came out of the house and said "no problem" and proceeded to tie the fragments together. I didn't say nuthin.

Teach your Dog Obedience and the limits of his area and you will not need some kind of Fence to contain him.If he runs away once ,go and get him and Love him, If he runs away twice ,shoot him!

An invisible fence WILL only have a chance of working on a dog with the special collar on it . What the He double tooth picks am I to put a collar on every dog in the neighborhood ? The idiot owners wouldn't let me anyhow !!!!! The dogs are just being dogs the owners are just being illresponsible !!!!! !!!

We had the same problems you're having with the #18 wire that comes with the system. I installed #10 solid copper in 1/2" plastic conduit (1.5 acres fenced in) about 3 years ago. Zero problems now.
