Threads don"t seal, ever, on diesel injection lines. The only sealant is metal to metal contact.

Nothing, just a good bit of torque. Are they leaking? If so, the nipple fittings are either not matched correctly or are damaged. Check those out. Also check out the the return line, they use copper washers or gaskets in most cases, and they can leak from a bad gasket or washer. Do not use any type of sealer that can get into the injector, the tolerances are too tight and you could ruin an injector if something gets in there.

You will have much better luck getting connections to seal if you first wash all parts in a fast drying paint thinner like PT 160 from Deere. The thinner washes off all traces of fuel that attract dust and dirt floating in the air which causes most leaks.Just blow everything dry before assembly. Then if you look closely at the washers, you will see they are slightly convex from when they were stamped out. Install the cup side towards the line like this----- -H (8)H.Then be sure the lines are not tightened under stress or vibraion will back the fitting back loose after the engine has run for a while.
