I was wondering if anybody could tell me what a JD 2240 was worth. It has 5000hrs on it, has duals and in very good condition. Thanks

Bought mine new in 1980. Been a great little tractor. In 27 years I've yet to replace anything major (Hope I didn't jinx myself). Without a doubt one of the most operator friendly tractors I've ever used.

I am not sure to the value, but I have two neighbors with 2240s and they have been excellent tractors. One was bought new in 1976 and the other in 1983.

I think that 2240 was made in Manheim Germany before Deere built their new plant in Georgia.

We had one of the older ones for about 14 yrs. When we finally traded it off it had about 8500 hours on it and we had done nothing to it. Of ourse dad is meticulous about oil and grease and we never abused it, just used it. I think they allowed him $200 more for it than he bought it for.
