I have an 864 on the farm and every now and then it won't start. Before i would just tap the fuel shutoff switch and then it would start, but now tapping doesn't seem to fix the problem. I'm hoping its not something serious but and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
~Cory

You should be able to unplug and take the solenoid off and replace with another usually this will fix the problem you are describing can not be for certain with out diagnosing it for sure

thanks for the help but it's not the starter that's the problem it cranks like there's no tomorrow it's the fuel switch at the injector it won't kick on and let it pump fuel to the engine. thanks for the help

There is a Fuel Shutoff solenoid(switch) on the injection pump or attached to it and that is what has probably gone bad.
