I was up at a local County Fair last night, and stopped in out local Electric Coops booth, and asked whatever happened to the isp thru the electric wire that I signed up for? They have ran it right past my house, and around the corner, to one of their employees homes, and he can not get it to work ok, but don't have time to really mess with it. I told them I had the time, and hopefully the patience, to F with it, if they wanted to install it in my home. So it looks like I am going to get FREE high speed Internet Access, if I can get it to work right.

Anyone lurking, or posting on here been around the setup?

It works for telephone service over the electric line- I have a gizmo plugged into an electric outlet in my shop, with phone attached, and it works great, and has for years.

The ordinary household telephone over the 120V line works ok as the communications don't have to cross over the transformer. Out to the 2.3,4.160, 13.8, 25 or 44 KV road distribution lines. High speed data over the electrical distribution grid is a great idea. The infrastructure is all there. Only problem is, it doesn't work. As previously stated. The carrier frequencies used on pld play havoc with ham, business & government radio systems.

"to F with it" ?

Why would you put that kind of a statement here ? Next time, try "to mess with it". Not really in the spirit of things here at the YT site in my opinion.

We have said F with it around here for 50 years, if it bothers you that much, I would suggest to you to stop reading public forums. My term F with it was not meant to be profane, but that is the way that you took it, I am sorry that you seem to think the worst out of your fellow man, my apologies.

The way I read it was "to Fool with it".

What was your interpretation?

My interpretation would have been what was actually meant and I don't think most of us would have to stretch our imaginations to think of what it meant. I'm not sure that too many of us would abbreviate the word "fool", have you ever seen that done? I'd be suprised if you really thought that. Let's not fool ourselves as to what was really meant when the thing was posted, to deny that would be pretty silly.

My interpretation is that "earlshieb" is not too bright or has a lazy use of the english language either way I agree with Old School.

There is nothing wrong with my intelligence, there has been some of your posts that I thought was not correct, but I have never said anything about them. Like I told Old School, we have said F with it around here for 50 years, no profanity was meant. Lazy use of the English Language, probably so.

It really looks like both of you picked on me because you are both jealous, that I MAY get free high speed internet access, that is all that I can figure. There is a LOT worse said on ytmag forums, on a regular basis, but you two picked on me.

Tender sensibilities? I'm not sure what a tender sensibility is, I've never heard of that expression before, it really doesn't make sense gramatically. Anyways, I'll try to explain it to you in an easy-to-understand way. This forum is a place where I think anyone should be able to frequent without being exposed to profanity, abbreviated profanity or not. Simple enough for you?

"Tender sensibility/sensibilities" Tender-soft;delicate;immature;. Sensibilities-power of experiencing sensations;capacity of feeling. Simple enough for you?

Proposals to transmit information over powerlines have been around for at least twenty years. If it was a good idea, everyone would have broadband today. Let us know how it goes.

"Broadband-over-power-line" is one of those bad ideas that should have never been. The systems frequently cause interference to radio systems. Some have been shut down. The national ham radio organization is suing the FCC over interference caused by the systems. They need to go away.

I have been lucky, they haven"t tried that around me yet, don"t think they will, they have enough trouble trying to keep the cable modem broadband working as it is, herd a lot of stories about all the interference in the places where they were testing it at, the companies claimed to be in compliance, and what do you know almost every time another person went out and set up equipment they weren"t, I have enough problems finding time to find the once a year cable leaks around my house.. 73 KB0FXA
