New name/tractor trailer question

The name coflyboy doesn't work any more, so I am using Coloflyboy until I can figure out what happened to the old one.
Question- I have a old hoist platform rescued from a garage that went out of business. It's the old type that consisted of 2 ramps on which cars/trucks drove to be lifted on the hydraulic hoist.

I want to make a tractor trailer out of that hoist but don't know how to compute the load the platform will hold. Can any of you smart guys out there tell me how to determine the safe carrying capacity of that platform?

I think he is talking about the old Air over HYD lifts that were in most stations in the 40's & 50's that are now outlawed by EPA . I have seen them used to make trailers out of but has been a long time .

This isn't computing, but depends on what you use for frame cross members, and how many. You'll need one at each end, and probably 3 or 4 spaced evenly across the length of the ramps(hoist). 2"channel iron would work. Then haul what ever you can get on the trailer. LE
