Where can I get info on the proper restoration of a Walboro carburetor # WT141? I have installed a new kit and can get it to run on almost full choke but then will soon die. Put in new gas line also. Blew the filter out. Have done this before successfully. Maybe you can help me. Thanks

I don't know what this bolts onto, but I assuming that this is a diaphram carburator on a 2-stroke engine.

Check the basics, like adjustment (generally 1 full turn on both idle and high speed screws) and making sure gas is in the tank. Check for air leaks around where the carburator attaches. Especially around any spacers that may be between the carb and the engine. Air leaks will cause the engine to run lean. Running with the choke on will cut down the air flow and temporarily fix the issue.

Does the engine run for only a few seconds and has a primer bulb? If are using the primer to help start the engine, you may have a diaphram installed backwards.

Good luck.

On what application? Two-stroke-cycle engine needs crankcase pressure to draw fuel properly and also run the fuel pump in most Walbro carbs. Very often with two-strokes, leaks in the crankcase cause lean-running problems - not necessarily the carb.

Which system do you have - a piston-port, crankshaft roto-port, or reed valve?

2 stroke, is it a snowmobile carb?
Anyway the walbro snowmobile carbs I've seen have little rubber flapper whatsis in them that sometimes gets flipped around. Apparently getting them in and working correctly is somewhat of and art...

Don,
It sounds like you have a plugged passage somewhere. Did you blow out all the passages with carb cleaner and compressed air? It might even be something as simple as a mixture screw improperly adjusted. You will probably have more luck getting answers if you post your question in the Garden Tractors forum. Those guys know small engines pretty well.
Good Luck and God Bless, Tommy
