i know its been awhile since i have been on these boards...but i need to know if i am loosing it or not.
i went to tractor supply this spring to get a 5 gal pail of sae 30 non detergent ( i am in the process of switching over to detergent..just trying it out on one tractor first) i haven't been doing this long maybe 10-12 years servicing our farm tractors. all the oil's i have ever used are golden in color. this stuff is clear. a few years ago i bought some cases of sae 30 non-detergent compressor oil that looked the same, i returned them. I always thought that viscosity was viscosity.

i have only used a quart of this stuff and i am hesatint on using any more. what are your opinions on it?

I bought their hydraulic oil and put it in the 2255. It ran hotter than hot. Emptied it, sucked it up and went to town and bought JD oil and now it"s fine. My 2 cents.

What on earth are you still running non-detergent in at this point in time? Be careful when you switch, the detergent may doslodge so much crud/sludge that it may stop up oil passages. I would change, run only a few hours and change again. This is my personal opinion, but I would not use TSC oil in a red toy wagon. Get some Shell Rotella 15W40 or Chevron Delo 15W40 or Mobil Delvac 15W40. Tom

I only tried traveller once, My farmall burned it bad...switched back to name-branded stuff and did not burn a drop. I was just trying to save a buck, I guess I learned my lesson.

I am a rational guy and don't get caught up in brand bashing, etc., but I wouldn't use it again.

I am sure somebody is going to tell you that it is the best stuff around. It's funny how different people can have such different experiences with the same oil.
