I purchased a new lawn tractor which I will use over some native grass land. This ground has some cactus on it which may puncture my tires.

Anyone have suggestions on what I should put into the tires to solve the problem? Should I do it before the puncture or after.

I"m a mechanic for our town"s highway dept.(which also includes the park and grounds dept.) I have a large assortment of tractors, mowers etc. I use a sealer called Amer-seal that I buy by the case from my local NAPA jobber. The advantage of this sealer over the green slime is that it can be washed out of a tire with just hot water. This is important when you get a larger punture that must be patched from the inside. Use a sealer. Just not the inflating kind, in those the sealer is too thin and quits working in a few months. The thick kind like slime and others should work good. We buy it by the 5 gallon bucket to use on tires that are in thorns much tougher than cactus.

I used to get all kinds of flat tires on my lawn tractor then sears put that sealer in then with a lifetime warranty against flats so far in 4 years they replaced one front tire which I thought was good but they didn't. Hey no more flats is great.
Wish i could say the same thing on my other stuff. I have a flat on the rear of the Case 485 and one on the Brush Hog right now and a hole in the radiator Dad Day at Black Rock. Walt

Better to just add the slime stuff. Foam will be so hard that the mower will beat itself to death, as well as the operator. Tom
