I inherited an onan genset with a continental F162 engine, running on natural gas. The distributor doesn't turn. Any tips on a carburetor to fit this motor for gasoline and by chance does the oil pump drive the distributor? Any other info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Pete

Lincoln SA200 welders used F162's and they made a lot of them. Newer models used the F163 Red Seal which is just a newer version. Dave

I've got the F162 on a Fairbanks Morse 18KW genset - and it is a real gas hog. Distributor on top that is oil-pump driven as far as I know. Carb in Zenith but many also use Marvel Schebler carbs. Here's a link for a list of numbers.

Also some Cockshuts and Massey Harris 30s use the F162.

I found a manual on Ebay for $20 with shipping that covers your engine.
