for posting the off topiic, grasshopper and ant tidbit the other day. Although I have some personal opinions of what is right and what is wrong, I need to respect others as well. I will refrain from posting similar off topics, but I can not promise to never post "offtopics". I had some time to ponder my post , and the replies, while I was cutting 15 acres of Alfalfa( tractor related) tonight and decided I do not want to be a ingredient in the recipe of any ill will on this site. So to any one I offended, I'm sorry!

What's the big deal. It was true. Off topics are what make these things worth reading.

First I wasn't offended by it in the least and second If someone is offended by a post then a dissent can be posted without getting all heated about it. Or nothing said at all. Life is too short and everyone is entitled to their opinion

All that fuss over a little political humor? You could have gone OT with religion also and mention that the Bible tells us that if you don't work, you don't eat. That fits with your grasshopper and ant tidbit. You would have really caught a lot of flack had you done that. Now I suppose I'll get jumped on for mentioning the Bible on the tractor talk forum.

I found no offense in the story Dave, however some of the responses were less than mature. BTW, how many times do guys talk about things other than tractors at the dealers parts counters? And there, time is money, here it's free.

Isn't the Gooey grasshopper, the cherry drowned ant and Crunchy Frog all part of the "Whizzo Chocolate Assortment?"

Dave, I read this board daily, I don't remember your post. Actually i enjoy many of the ot post as much or more than tractor related. I believe thats why this forum is so poplar. no apology needed.

The "OT" bit was kind of a compromise that was arrived at several years ago. Some objected to non-tractor threads, others (myself) read off topic threads sometimes, but would like to know what they're about so we can cruise on by if we're not interested. By putting OT and something about the subject of the thread, the "all tractor, all the time" guys can skip it. Seems to work OK most of the time.

Dear Dave,
You must be a good person. I am sorry for flying off the handle and calling you "feeble minded" when I don't even know you. Tom

No need to apologize. America's greatest gift is the right of expression without fear of repraissal. In this day and time anything said or printed will offend at least 50% of the people. It doesn't have to turn into a flaming war...if you don't like what people say then rebutt intelligently or ignore.

There's no need to apologize for telling the truth.

Some just can't handle it.

If they are not bright enough to skip over it, that is their worry.
