Maybe the big cat in one of his early photos mistake him for a mouse?

When our gas prices reach what theirs are now, we'll really have something to cry about! Heck, they were paying $5 a gallon some years ago. And thats why they drive cars that don't guzzle gasoline. We've had it too easy here--with cheap fuel prices. But, since China and some other laid-back countries have discovered cars and trucks, the supply of fuel has been out-stripped by more places to sell it, not just here! I don't know what the rules are in China for refineries, but the do-gooders in this country have about ruined any chance for cheap gasoline, with their insistence on less pollution, and more controls! Yep, we can breathe better, but can't walk very far!

I know, if i had something to sell, and the price here was too low, and other countries were willing to pay lots more for the product--just where do you think i would have it for sale?! Maybe David from Wales is out there looking for some way to bring down fuel prices! And, i miss his pictures, too. Oh, i almost forgot---Gasoline went up .15 a gallon from yesterday, at our local Citgo station!

When I lived in England (Dec 97 to Dec 02) I drove a car that ran on gasoline first, then in 99 I bought a diesel. The gasoline on the base was running about a $1.80 per gallon compared to the locals on thier economy that were paying close to $3.50 a gallon. When I started driving the Opel Astra with the diesel engine I was paying between $2.00 and $2.25 a gallon compare with the locals. That little car had about a 13 gallon tank and I used to fill up on average once a month. My 3/4 4WD '07 GMC with the Duramax that I bought last October is spending a lot of time sitting in the shed in the back yard. I'm driving a 92 Corsica these days due to the fact that the GMC gets approx. 17 to 18 mpg and the Corsica gets approx 28 to 30 mpg. The pickup is my retirement truck. I've wanted another one and saved for it since shortly after leaving for England in 97 but haven't had the use/funds to purchase another pickup. I hope to put this one to use when I retire...my plan is to do some restorations, repair, and hopefully some sales on old farm machinery. Not looking to get rich, just hoping to make enough to break even and maybe pay for some beer and fuel once in a while.

The cost of fuel is going to drive the the old farm equipment collecting hobby out of of our ability to keep, hopefully something happens that will keep it on the break even or near it levels.

Jim

The sad part for them is the LARGE part that they pay in gas taxes, thanks to their politicians and enviro-do-gooders. When gas first hit the $3.00 mark here a comparison of world gas prices was made, they(England) were paying waaay too much for taxes. Makes me wonder what will happen here if a tax-raising, do-gooder gets elected next year. Saw an article the other day from a petroleum analyst who thinks China will be able to stand $90.00+ a barrel oil before they start cutting back. I fully expect $4.00+ per gallon gas next summer. I HOPE I'm wrong!

I am surprised that you still have a Hugo (Citgo) in your neighborhood. Just all goes to support that dictator. If hhis was $1.00 and every one else was 5.oo he wouldn't get any of my money. SAme goes for BP. They tried to control the propane in this country and got caught.
