I had mine done by a Gastroenterologist who immigrated from China (this is true). So, like several UFO fans, I have been probed by an alien.

I'm really glad that yours turned out ok. I get mine Monday. None on either side of parents but wife has been hounding me for several years to do this. I'll be 60 next month and this is my first. Rick

Great news to hear. Those who won't go and get checked are the true *ssholes. They should take a brief walk into the hospital. And ask the patients that are dieing a horrible death from a disease that could have been stopped by getting scoped. Or ask those who are trying out their new colostomy bags. If it would have been a good idea to get scoped and not have to wear a bag of cr*p under your shirt.

Going to have to have one of those myself before long. Nearly everyone on my moms side of the family has had colon cancer. Including mom. No one on dads side has ever had any kind of cancer, but it runs wild on moms.

Don't put it off- no other kind of cancer is so easy to see, and therefore preventable- and it does run in families, so get your a$$ (so to speak) in there and do it! :>)

They got mom cured so they thought. It has been 4 years and they found a malignant tumor on a lung a couple weeks ago. They claim somehow it is related to the colon cancer. Doc says it is not related at all to smoking, and she has smoked for more than 50 years.

Geargeky: I had colon cancer 8 years ago and after the surgery I was told it was contained in the lining and kemo wasn't required. In june of this year I made a bad step with my right leg and it hurt my knee. I limped around on it for a couple of weeks before I hade a MRI which disclosed a golf ball size tumor. After surgery the doctor told me it was cancer caused by the colon cancer and I probably had it in my lungs to. Tests several days latter verified it was in my right lung to. Radiation took care of the problem. Our medical system is expensive but finding my cancer an removing it along with further tests took less than 1 week. The radiation took 14 treatments at 1 every week day. We have the best medical system in the world in my opinion. My 6 daughters think that finding the lung cancer by stepping wrong on my leg was caused by an angels kick.
