Looking at a 2001 Dodge 1 ton with dump. It has a 5.9 L Gas engine with a 5 spd. Any problems I should be aware of. I'm not big on the idea of the gas engine but it won't be a daily driver.

Thanks, Grant

Only problems are with the intake manifold gasket leak, which appears as excessive oil consumption. This will cause the MPG to go down and eventually clogg up your catalytic converter.

I have a "97 that went 280k before I put in a new motor.

I had an '01 3/4 ton with the 5.9 gas. The only complaint I had was fuel economy. 10.4 without trailer, 8.2 with trailer. Mine had 4.10 gears and an auto transmission.
