need help with my wheel horse toro
14 hr Kohler 264G
model #72042
serial number# 5901-003

The tractor starts fine when cold
after use the tractor will turn over fine, but will not start.-- Acts like the engine is not getting spark. I took the spark plug out last summer when warm & no spark from spark plug. 2 hrs later the same spark plug started the engine.

this warm starting issue has been going on for several mos.

there are several cutoff switches such as : 40lbs + on the seat, mower is off, neutral clutch & brake are engaged.

any ideas??

thx

I changed the gas filter

Disconnect the ground wire where it goes under the cauling to the mag., when it won't start. that eleminates all safety switches. if it starts, you will have to choke it to kill it.

Sounds like points. I would buy an electronic ignition set if available. And throw away the points cause they have a lot better spark.
