Whee! We got about 2 inches of rain! Water stod behind terraces, streams have more water in them, and I had to fight mud to move a hay ring to a new place today. This has been the dryest year since 1931. '31 was probably hotter. My mother talked about hot dry weather in the 1930s. Rainfall is something like 20 inches below normal. Normal was reported as being 55 inches, but I think it's less.
Also supposed to be cold the rest of the week, like lows in the 20's. I know that's not cold for farther North, but It's cold enough for me. I have seen it -10, however.

Looks like Alan is ready for a chinook.

cold and wind here in reply to KEH, 12-31-2007 15:52:33
Here in mid Missouri. Might get a light dusting of snow .. and no more. But wind is blowing a lot here now. .... Went out and refueled the outer furnace so it will last a long time. Plus brought some wood in for the morning fire. Found when it's real cold out and I have some warm wood for morning. The fire gets going real good and faster. So I will be ready. ... Now is talk that in a few days. Might up to 54 degree's in afternoon. Like that weather.

Hoss, you should have tried Charleston in summer. REAL heat with humidity to go with it.

While we are still behind in rain for the year we did get about 3.5" this month. With the lack of sun and cool temps it has allowed it to soak in good.

While it will be a cold week for us it should be back up to 70 by the weekend.
Suppose to get down to 25 here tuesday and wednesday night but our average low this time a year is 38-40.
+7 is the coldest it has ever been. That was 1985.

I'm in SC. I know what you mean about the ice, but we have been so dry we would have been glad even for frozen precipation.
