I have a lever that says.. it is for "Remote control valve lever.??? Does this mean it is for a hydraulic hook up on a piece of equiptment you have hooked on back of tractor? Any comments are apperiated..... ..... ..... ...

Earlier someone said..park the tractor and read the manual... lol Lot of good that does when you don't know at times what it is even talking about. ha ha Not all information in a book is detailed for a newbie.

So true old.. I have a 3600 for that i bought two years ago.. The guy that owned it put an aux block on it to run the loader and leave the other valve for the aux. they put the wrong block on and screwed all the hydraulics up and the three point didn't work right.. After I bought the tractor and got it home, I found that I couldn't disconnect the loader because the pump was pumping dead headed.. Took me two days to figure out it had the wrong aux block on it..

Yep a remote lever is for just that and you should have a quick connect for external hyds. But you could also have a plug there because it wasn't installed. Also if that lever is in the wrong place it can cause the problem you had with your 3 point

Read the book 3 times! And: !!! Do not move anything without first reading the book! And don't start it up on a slope! Block the wheels, or chain it to the barn, or a big rock, or a big truck! Then gingerly try the levers, brake and clutch pedals. And, first trip on it, moving along, do not try on a slope--try it out on flat land! A big piece of equipment usually sets there, biding its time, waiting for a Newbie to get on it and start fiddling with its parts! And suddenly, it comes alive, takes off with a lurch---and its "WOO-HAWW--WHERE'S THE BRAKE PEDAL-WHERE'S THE CLUTCH PEDAL--WHERE'S THE IGNITION SWITCH--WHERE'S A GOOD PLACE TO JUMP OFF!?

I would say you are right and that lever controls the pressure going to the outlets on the back of the tractor that work hydrolic cyliners on what ever you are pulling. That said, getting a manual and setting down and reading it would be a good idea. I don't think they have a "old tractors for dummies" yet but they need one. Many of the older tractors did not come with ( or they have worn off) warning stickers. Some one who has not been around many tractors does not need to start move'n levers just to see what happens. Even with the tractor turned off some have a lever that when moved is just like pushing in the clutch and could send you on a down hill ride. Factory manuals normaly have good picturs and explantions of stuff. When many of these old tractors were made many farmers had been walking around smelling mule farts all thier life and a tractor was a totaly new thing for them. Good luck. If you will tell us what your tractor is, some one on here will tell you what ever knob, lever, and stick does, but no joke a book could be a life saver.
