I have 1085 Massey Fer. and the rear 3-point lift has stopped lifting. It will work if no implements are attached, but when I attach a box blade or anything, it will lift only about 2-3 inches off the ground. It worked fine until about a month ago, and I have not changed anything since then. What could be wrong. The front hydrolics work fine still. Plenty of hydo oil in tractor.

my international has a slow fast knoba and a on/off knob under the front edge of the seat. sometimes i accidentally turn with my foot and close and same thing happens, check to see if you have any such knobs to turn.

It was warmer a month ago- might hae slush, ice, sludge in the hydraulic filter. Some brands have screens in the system as well.

Not a mechanic and don't have that tractor but I do have a lot of others with hydraulics. You are losing pressure or never getting pressure somewhere on the rear side of your hydraulics. Either a bad pump or a seal that is gone and allowing fluid to go back into the reservoir rather than thru the system. It's just plumbing.
Think of your water in your house. If the nozzle at the end of the hose weren't spraying, whay would you do? Helps to have a manual at this point.
