Heres the scoop on the questionable auction of the decade!Hello,

Thank you for your inquiry about the Gary Phillips auction in Bridgeport, Nebraska. We contracted to conduct this auction in September of last year but were recently notified by the seller that she had sold the entire collection to a party unknown to us at the present time.

As you can imagine, it came as a complete surprise to us. At this time, we have put all plans on hold for the auction. We are supposed to hear something in January regarding the contractual obligation they are under with us. Please watch our website for any news.

We apologize for this inconvenience to you. We can assure you that it was entirely out of our control. We were looking very forward to seeing the collecting community at this event. We will pass along new information as it surfaces. Thanks again and have a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Best Regards,

Kurt Aumann, CAI

If you had a contract to sell the tractors and she broke it without your consent, doesn't that mean you still get all the commision? It's probably less than selling the tractors individually but pretty easy money. Hopefully the legal fees won't be too high. Dave

Howdy,

Well, I guess I'll use my vacation time for something else. If a neighbor had still wanted to go we were gonna make the trip out there next year and trade off driving duties. Was gonna take vacation time to make the trip and wasn't gonna come back empty handed. And I live in Southern Ohio. Guess I'd better make a bigger offer on that John Deere R with the rice options I had been lookin at. :) God bless.

Before Gary passed away he made a deal to sell all crawlers and dozers to Tri-county equipment in Denver. Anything with tracks (over 75 tractors)was part of that deal. Tri County has been hauling 5-6 tractors every weekend and he should be just about done moving all of them.

So Tri County definitely bought a bunch and are hauling them away.

Dennis Polk definitely bought them all and they are for sale.

Kruse definitely has a six day auction coming up with all them on it.

Aumann is still planning on selling them.

No wonder the information from this place is confusing. Probably best to stick to discussions about your dead cats. At least you know what you are talking about then.

Call Kruse's in Auburn IN and ask for Dean. He'll give you the latest update! And by the way....it's 2500 tractors.

I would say that was a mistake.

All the Aumann auctions I have been to were first class and brought top dollar. I would just as well go to one of their auctions vs most antique shows.

Guess its less headache for the seller.

That figures I was saving every penny I had for that auction. Guess its back to buying up all the neighbors junk.

Don't give up yet in reply to jd30gp, 01-22-2008 14:53:58
There was a thread on this on SmokStak a week or so ago, apparently there are still some sort of negotiations or legal actions or something still going on. The auction is still listed on Aumann's web site, so I suspect they haven't given up.

Was really hoping to go. One of the few big events that's actually within driving distance of Denver.

Well I'm sure she screwed up as I always see auction tractors bring WAY more than you can sell them for on your own.

No, Polk is just a major player in the game. Don't worry you'll see the good stuff again and the rest will be available as parts. Who's the guy who bought out the parts dept at Polk's?

Hello, Where is Dennis Polk selling the tractors, what website. I"m disappointed that the auction was cancelled, I had a few of the tractors picked out to buy if they went for the price that I could afford based on the photos.
Man oh MAN what a disapoint. I was hoping to attend it to at least see a collection of this size.
