Slipped on the ice, smashed my hip on a utility trailer I was moving by hand.

Slipped on some ice, and cracked a rib or two. It hurts to laugh... But the ironic part is that I did it before I started using the chainsaw as I walked up to get the eye protection that I had forgotted at the barn. Oh well... bones will heal, eyes often don't...
Be Safe!

Sorry about the finger. Them heads sure are...well, I don't need to tell you. You already know. Hope will be OK.

But on the brighter side, see I you're all fixed up otherwise. Nice haircut. Good to have you back Stan.

I got bit by a cat this morning. He is a crazy wild one that poops on the porch all the time and my cousin said she'd take him so I tried to grab him real quick on the neck but he move a little faster than I did. He bit right through a pair of thick leather gloves and got the tip of my ring finger. Typing this is kinda hard with that sore spot. bled alot.

Well... It's Sunday now, but yesterday I was cutting wood. Running chainsaw, felt it vibrating my left shoe. Decided to move my foot. Close one..

Splitting wood. frozen wood pops and flies away from the splitter, and if ya ain't careful you can get racked pretty good. trust me.

My cell phone fell out of my pocket at some point. apparently it's no match for flying wood chunks. busted both screens. grrr

Wow, what a downer thread! Everybody banged up, then a whiner who's emotionally scarred. I'm almost sorry to report that I shoveled two spreader loads of horse manure, then picked sticks and brush for land clearing, and didn't break, bend, sprain or lacerate anything. And my psyche is still good as new, to boot. As an old denizen of this board used to say, "Have a gooder."

You guys are lucky. All of your little injuries will heal.

My pain is not physical. It is emotional pain brought on by some very selfish people here. My feelings have been severely hurt. You should think twice before posting ignorant thoughts.

And some of you holier than thou types who have decided you are in charge of what get's discussed here should grow up. Just because a topic doesn't interest doesn't mean it doesn't interest others. If you are too stupid to avoid a topic you don't like or agree with then just ignore it. The world doesn't revolve around you or your granddaughter so mind your own business. This forum isn't just for you, it's for everybody.

My emotional scars will heal. But some of you really need to get a life.

You got off easy. I smashed my index finger good between two rocks working on my stone wall Friday. The nail is completely black, the finger swollen to twice the normal size.

If I wasn't wearing thick lineman's gloves, I could have lost it.

Pain is beyond description. It's what I get for trying to mess around with half frozen rocks.

You bend out a paperclip so it's a straight piece of wire. Get the end of it red hot on a candle, torch, gas stove burner, whatever. Push the wire through the nail. It will go through almost under its own weight. It sounds painful, but it's almost painless. Then the blood can drain out without losing the nail.

I didnt hurt myself, but my step sons dad tok a spill on his snowmobile, totaled it (2nd one this yaar), broke his femur in 3 places and shattered his kneecap. My step son was pretty upset. His step mom was overdramatic when she called here to tell him, and he spent a minute thinking his dad was dead before she said he was in the hospital. Sounds like his dad is done with snowmobiling. My boy needs both his dads for as long as we can be here. Be safe out there.

A week or so ago, I was climbing the ladder up to the hayloft in my barn with my ice spikes on my boots (Stablicers brand) and lost my footing. Didn't fall off the ladder but in flailing around trying NOT to fall, I whacked my right forearm on the rim of the hatch hard enough to bruise the bone.

Since then, I have hit that spot at least once a day. That hurts as bad, if not worse, than the original injury...

Sorry bout your finger.

I can relate to that too. The blood thinners I take mean that ANY little scratch bleeds like I've been cut three ways: Long, deep and repeatedly.

I've lost track of how many times people have asked me, "Hey, did you know you're bleeding?"

Bumped my lil' punkin' haid on a pipe flange at work, hard enough to make me say a few things I'm just as glad my Mom didn't hear. Didn't think anything more of it until the blood started running in my eyes. (Scalp wounds are bad for bleeding anyway. Throw in some blood thinners, and it gets gross pretty quickly) Went back inside to wash up and stick a bandaid on it, and a couple of the girls on the packing line turned kinda green. Musta looked like an extra from the Texas Chainswa Massacre...

We have the same problem. I work in a machining plant, mostly aluminium, lots of sharp edges. With the blood thinners, it gets ugly. And almost all of us are on blood thinners. And because they have a big thing about "biohazards", I am supposed to go to the nurse to be bandaged up. But if I do that, I could be written up for "unsafe work practices". Regardless, my foreman would have to write a safety report. All of us keep big boxes of bandaids in our toolboxes. I have known guys who went home rather than report an injury.

When I worked in the cedar mill, most fellows who got hurt went in to have the the boss patch them up. He did far better work than the local doc.

It has been a week now since I cut my finger in the shop on a joiner/planer. Took 15 stitches to sew it up. It is healing back nicely though. I am now back in the woodshop working. So----- ask me if I am now using push blocks. Well here is the answer. Does a bear poop in the woods?
