I am a senior at the Osceola high school in Polk county Wisconsin and today is our spring drive your tractor to school day. it is a big event here in this small town and i was just wondering if any other schools had this kind of event. The list of the tractors currently sitting in the parking lot is a 1929 M-D 22-36, 1938 F-20, JD 50, JD 70, Farmall Cub Lo-Boy, IH 3788, AC 7045, JD 8220, JD 4455, and some more that i can"t quite recall.

We do that at our school at Fairfield Jr.-Sr. High. But we do it during National FFA Week in February and it is always so cold that you'd have to go out at 4 in the morning to plug it in so it will start to got to school then it sits in the cold windy parking lot all day and won't start when you want to leave cuz the school won't let us run extention cords ou there. But it is fun to see some tractors there. Not many drive though because of the weather.

When I was a senior in high school (2003), couple of us decided we'd drive tractors to school during homecoming week. Most of the kids I grduated with are from the city and didn't know what to think about couple tractors sitting in the parking lot.

When I was in Hi school it was common for lots of us to drive the tractor to school after working several hours in the fields. Then, we also got to skip last period to get back to the field. 1946=47=48. Henry

Buckeye Valley Schools in Delaware Co. Ohio still has one, they also get two days off during the county fair because so many kids do 4H.

A high school not far from here, in central New York State, had a "drive your tractor to school day" until perhaps four or five years ago when the board president's son was killed in an accident on his way to school with their Ford "N". It was reported that the young man had taken the tractor out of gear to coast down a hill and lost control near the bottom, going into the ditch and overturning. Other students riding in a trailer being pull by the tractor were also injured. It can be a great activity, but DRIVE SAFELY, please.

Yeah, They had a drive a week or so ago at a school near here. My hat's (farmer's hat)off to you and your shool. Some school administrations aren't very sympathetic. Be sure to thank them!

Valders High School (WI) has it closer to the last day. Usually draws 25-30 tractors of all shapes, sizes, years and even a few lady drivers (no surprise).

Lincoln HS in Manitowoc has a "Senior Parade" each year. In my senior year - 1984 - there were 2 tractors (mind you this school is in the city). One driver took to running his Duetz up and down the beach and narrowly escaped getting busted by Johnny Law. We hid him in a thicket by the power plant. Good times!

The local school used to until a couple years ago, there was a tractor accident. No one was hurt thankfully but it was the result of some horse play so the school board decided it was a risk that was not acceptable.

My school here in PA does not have such a thing but last year on the last day of my senior year I drove my Oliver 1550 with loader to school. I made kind of a big scene especially with the straight pipe and had a lot of fun.
