Last summer at VBS my daughter took her friend from a family that never did things quite right. This poor girl knew nothing about the Bible lessons from Genesis. The teacher felt sorry for the poor girl and gave her an easy one. "Rachel, Who was the first man?" The girl replied," I ain't a gonna tell and get no body in trouble."

The girl is smarter than you give her credit for being. Only in Genesis 2 is the man given a name which is a play on words combining the Hebrew words for human being and dust. In Genesis 1 no individualization is implied as the text says "God created humankind in his image".

Joke or not it's about the truth. Stay around the youth at church for awhile and you might be surprised. Even some of the ones that grew up in church haven't a clue whats going on. Oh, well. Maybe something will sink in.

Not just church things, spend any time around kids, form 12 on up, and you'll find that most are compeltely clueless about most everything. We're growing the biggest crops of empty heads ever!

Okay, so it was about Rachel not knowing about the whole "Adam" as in Adam and Eve (not to be confused with the adult toy company). With the fruit, tree, and serpent.

I was hoping that was the intent.

On first read, I interpreted the joke to mean that Rachel was sexually abused. I tried to avoid that in my first reply. But it sure kinda changes the whole meaning doesn't it?

The kids are chock full of "news and information" about the latest adventures of the immoral fools in the entertainment industry. Any movie, song or video game too.

Your third sentence of the four is the one that makes most sense to me. That's what happens when you believe everything that is told to you without thinking for yourself.
