With Fertilizer price at $600/ton do you think they will be less Fertilizer sold in the USA this year. We got lucky and bought all of our last Dec. Pre buy.

There has been here. I asked the manager at the co-op about his sales. Dollar wise he told me his dollars were up 6 percent but his tonnage was about half. Almost all of the fertilizer here goes on hay ground so I'd say hay prices may just hold this year.

Everyone thinks we are going to get rich with the high crop prices so they want to gouge. I hope I live to see the day when oil producing countries are hungry and begging us for food. AND when farmers get about 50% of the cost of food. I would like to tell Hugo, Mexico and the Arabs "We think food is too cheap so we are cutting production"

That'll probably never happen though.

the reason oil producers can set prices is there is really only a few producers, who control most of the production. with current farm trends the same may happen in ag shorty as well.the COST of producing corn has gone up by at least $1.25 a bushel in two years wheat the same so how will anyone make It,when not if, prices go back down to former levals.Paul

With that math then it could go down to 3.25 and we"d still make the same as when corn was 2.00
