Okay I have a ingersoll 444 that I am having problems with it is not getting power to the starter for some reason I know the ignition switch is good and I know the battery and solenoid and starter are good but that is about all the electrical parts I have tested. I am not sure if the rectifier is good or even if it has anything to do with why it wont turn over but I need help!

You may have a safety switch that's not allowing voltage to the starter. I would jumper them to see if you can locate the defective switch. Hal

Not familiar with that machine in particular but if it has a computer check the alternator. I know alot of machines with a computer sense off the alternator to determine if the engine is running and if so to lock out the starter. If a diode blows or leaks by a set voltage,(say around 2 volts) even while stationary, the computer thinks the engine is running and won't let you "restart" it. Not being familiar with that I couldn't tell you on that machine what post to check or if it's even a possible cause. All I can say for sure is it is something I've seen happen on numerous pieces of equipment over the years. Good luck.

Fuse or fusible link in the starter circuit.
