Are you still wanting to plant field corn?? If so, we got a 50lb bag for our little field and have used about 1/6 of it. If youre interested we would sell it cheap since hybrd seed doesnt keep between the years. Lanselot1993@aol.com

If you're worried about germination; 10 seeds, paper towel, saucer, some water, and a window sill and adjust rate accordingly.

Dry and no vermin and it will be OK 10 years later, I know I have used that old corn, if afraid of emergance just up the rate by 10%

Just keep it dry and it will keep for a long time.

Seed corn keeps well. Seed from hybrid corn may not germinate though. Last year I planted two year old seed and it grew just fine. Well actually three year old, grown for the 2005 season in 2004.

In my post above, the corn I referred to was 2-3 years old. Planted it thick and will thin with a hoe if it all comes up. I have done this in the past and it grew ok. Don't see why hybrid field corn wouldn't be ok next year, the sweet corn I used is hybrid.
