I know you hear some messed up stuff on the news, but this is something! Got the tv on here at work to make some noise. They just had a story on CBS about some people in an apartment building who have had a "pet" turtle live'n round back for about 10 years. There is construction going on across the fence. "Murtle the Turtle" showed up in the back yard one day painted bright orange. A vet could not get it off. SPCA is doing an ivestigation to try to find out which construction worker painted the turtle. If it dies or has to be put down because of the paint, who ever done it could face 1 year in the big house and $1000 fine. With all that is going on in the world how did this make the news and who has time to "ivestigate" such things?

Did any of these folks ever think maybe this was a good thing, it is harder to run over a bright orange box turtle with a lawn mower, some body just saved the little feller's life there!!

Done with my rant now. Hope yall have a good day, and don't get caught paint'n turtles!!!!

Dave

I don't think that it will die. On a road once
saw a turtle painted yellow, fresh stripes were
being painted on that road. the turtle got painted
too, accidently, or on purpose, by the stripping crew. We always looked for that turtle, in a roadside pond, and saw it for a few summers later.

A snail was overheard making a police report after crashing into a turtle. 'I don't know, officer, it all happened so fast'. Sorry, couldn't resist! Greg

As a kid, we used to put a little paint or fingernail polish on the back of box turtles, and find 'em years later none the worse for wear.

I've always had a soft spot for the lil' dudes- It's a family joke about how often I stop the truck to get a turtle across the road.

I have stoped the truck for'm too. I have a soft spot for the slow guys. I think alot of it is that if the folks who live there had to get a job and buy thier cheese insted of get'n a big white box of cheese and a letter in the mail first Tuesday of every month they would not be on the news whine'n bout the new paint job.
