I"m ready to fire up my old Farmall A but when I open up the fuel the sediment bowl fills up and then overflows somehow over the lip.

I cleaned everything up and tightened it pretty good and I tried several other sediment bowls, still no solution. The fuel line isn"t clogged so it should be accepting fuel.

Anybody have any suggestions thanks a lot!!

Sometimes if you over tighten it will cause it to warp. May have to use two gaskets.

Sometimes when you are tightening these bowls (be sure gasket is in place first!) you need to spin the bowl a bit as you tighten it. This also works on cannister-type oil filters. Sometimes this is the only way to stop leaks. I do it this way all the time. Works for me. Armand

What type of gasket are you using?? They make a cork one and a rubber one. The cork ones need to soak up some gas to work well. You also have to be careful how you install those gaskets because if there off just a tad it will leak

Have you tried a new gasket? If that doesn't help, the "base" (top part of the sediment bowl) is likely warped or cracked.
