Just put out 3440 lbs of 15-15-15, costs were 1092.20, or 635 dollars per ton. This is in North central Texas, only have one bulk fertlizer supplier left in our town, they furnish the spreader. Tom

I top dressed grass hay and it was $800/ton (15-15-15) in NY. Hay has been $200/ton for first cutting and $250/ton for second if you can find any. In small squares.

Where are you at Tom? It is running $570 a ton at the co-op in Greenville. They say bonus crop is a little cheaper. Too rich for my blood. Jeff

Jeff, I am near Weatherford. Bought the fertlize at Dillards Feed and Seed on North Main street. They are only real source of bulk fertlize left in Weatherford. This was $635 for 15-15-15. They had 0-0-34 and other blends a little cheaper, cant remember the numbers something like 24-6-12 or something. The store said tonnage sales were way down from last year, but their dollars of sales were holding up OK at these prices. Tom

With $6.00 corn and $15.00 beans,$600 fertilizer is still cheap.

too bad i'm not farming beans or corn. hay is my game. getting harder and harder to sell hay and actually make a profit with the cost of fuel, fertilizer, machinery and repairs. old saying is: crime does not pay and neither does farming.

AMEN on the hay. $2.50 a bale for grass ain't gunna cut it (pun intended) much longer. Let's see now: 18 miles to my further most field, Case 1370 burns 6 GPH, old yeller runs 18 MPH tops, so takes 1 hr 15 minutes just to get there. In other words 8 gallon there 8 gallon back, without even Mo-Co ing the hay. 16 gallons at 4.50 (OUR local price) equals $72.00 just for fuel without cutting ANY. Still haven't come over and baled it yet, hauled it, etc. Last years tax return was a real eye opener on the hay work, you would think I would wise up. DOUG
