I agree with what Dave said and have for years. Once they buyer has made payment for the item, his "contractual" obligations are complete and the seller should leave positive feedback. That is all the buyer is responsible for. I hate that alot of sellers don't even leave feedback and they state in their auctions they won't leave feedback until the buyer has left feedback for them. Seems to me like they are hiding something.

The requirement for shipping fees to be included in the auction is a long overdue requirement. I, as I am sure most of you do, calcelate how much I will bid based on what the total costs with shipping are going to be. Dealing with farm equipment parts especially, I hate contacting sellers to try and determine a shipping price. And I hate it even more when I know I am getting ripped off on shipping after the auction is over.

Just my $.02.

Scott

Works for me!!

I recently bought what was represented to be an owners manual, (the photo was fuzzy), and when it arrived it was nothing more than a maintenance schedule. I paid by Pay Pal within 15 minutes of the auction ending. I left negative feedback because the merchandise was misrepresented, pure and simple.

Up to that point, I had 100% feedback as a buyer. The seller went berzerk, posted negative feedback for me, said I was a bad e-bayer, told everyone not to deal with me, etc.

Assuming payment is made properly, I think a buyer should have the right to make the first comment on a transaction. After all, when you're contemplating doing business with an automotive service department, you ask other customers how they like the place, you don't ask the Service Manager how he likes his customers.

In theory the seller should have the first feedback option. Once his payment arrives and the package is shipped, the feedback should be on the page for the buyer. The buyer would then know the item is on the way. Once the buyer gets the item he should post his comments on the transaction. If it was a speedy delivery and the overall experience. The idea of one holding thoughts until the other post is really dumb. Maybe they should hide the comments until both have posted, then release the comment lines.

The rules I saw stated that a seller could leave negative feedback before the buyer left feed back, but not after. prevents a seller form leaving spite feed back when a buyer complains about his service.

Seller cant leave any negative feedback. I sell a lot on ebay, and I understand why they did it, but it isnt fair to us sellers. I have a guy that bid up an Oliver binder to $70 now wont respond or pay. I cant leave feedback!
