We had heavy thunderstorms this last w/e. Started in Dallas early Sat and tracked almost due east. They hit the farm Sat. afternoon around 4:30 and we had at least 4 waves of severe weather during the night including a tornado warning at 9:00. No damage, but lots of hard rain, thunder and lightening. Rain didn't quit until mid-morning on Sun.

So much for the grass seed we planted Apr. 25 at the hayfield.

Had water standing everywhere. Came down so hard and fast, it overflowed the gutters. Had water running through the tractor shed and the area where we park the tractors. Eventually, we'll do some dirt work and fix that problem. Weather report said we got between 1.31 and 1.5 inches. I think it was more than that.

Got hit with another thunderstorm in Dallas last eve. More hard rain and some hail. Pasture is a squishy mess.

Watched the weather this am, and the same storm that hit us in Dallas, went right across the farm, so probably got more rain there.

More thunderstorms predicted for tonight.

Rain, rain go away, come again another day (Like mid-July)

Normally, I point my hand at what I talking about, that way, all five fingers are doing the job, does that help ???

one finger is never enough to get the point across ,,, but most don't know that,

Now don't get me wrong,,,, I need advice and instructions too, I never leave myself out of the Picture, NEVER,,,, I ask for all the help I can get, and make choices...

Here in the east, i'd like to think of all this rain as a blessing to the well water supply. We finally have mud instead of dust.

However, my grass around my house is now green and ready to be BALED, and my garden is ready to have 4 wheelers go mud bogging in it.

Lotsa rain! :)

Hi Ken -

Yep - just north of there about 40 miles - just across the line into the OK panhandle...

We had some moisture in the winter, so some of the wheat looks better than down around Clarendon, Sweetwater, etc (was down there a few weeks ago), but one more rain sure would help us out...

Of course, all the corn guys are planting full force right now, so they'd probably just as soon it hold off a couple of weeks... :)

Where do you live??

HH

I think we all talk about the weather, and it is a good conversation starter.Nothing wrong about that. Here we prayed for rain, and got a little ,some got a lot,and that is alright. We know we arn't in control.T stormy weather chat came through a couple of days ago missed us ,but continued on east ,all the way across north Texas, and did some damage, and produced heavy rain.I think we got enough to plant cotton in most areas, and grass is greening up ,and we are thankful for that..... .....

Yep - send it our way... I was digging in the wheat yesterday and it is loose powder down to about 8 inches...

The wheat looks OK from the road since it is cool & cloudy, but it is heading out and one good soaking rain would sure boost our crops up here in the Panhandle...

I said at one point I was not going to engage you anymore because of your inflammatory attacks. BUT WHEN YOU ATTACK A MANS WIFE YOU CROSSED THE LINE. Around here you get your a$$ kicked for something like that and it shows what a dishonorable person you are. You are welcome to be a jerk, but leave the attacks out, as someday you too will be judged for your actions.

Nancy, we could sure use the rain where I am at. Corn should be out of the ground in a day or two, then a nice shower would be great for the roots to penetrate the harder dry dirt below. I like you, hope it rains, may even pray for rain, but I sure dont think I will tell God to make it rain.

Ah, Joe. I think Nancy's posting was pretty innocent and uncontrolling, have said the same phrase many times in the past, never once meant to think I was a god, was not trying to control anything or any ony one. Pretty sure she wasnt trying to tell God what to do. She as many are just hoping for something, like rain, no rain, no cancer, no MN Joe on YT, no world disease and such. You seem to want to take any remork that some how, someway, could open up a chance for you to preach your extreme interpretation of what God wants. I find it awful arrogant and foolish of you to preach as you do. As you know God is in control, NOT YOU, you you are trying to "control" a great many on here, by trying threaten and intimidate people. If there are non beleivers here, let them learn and believe from the acts and grace of God. You Joe, will drive more away than you will ever bring to, the way you use fear and intimidation. So, how is your spring farming ot tractor work coming for you Joe? Everything planted? Do you need rain or have plenty?

Thanks Dave, (are you trying to intimidate me?) What I do, and preach, is that I accept every thing God gives us, it's for a reason and we are to learn them reasons, and be thankful for every thing and anything for His Glory, that's the key to worship, (to pray for change is different then demanding) Our Only true Hope is in Him, but most don't know that, as most demonstrate.

the reason you find my preaching arrogant, is because you don't know how to accept what your given by HIM, and want to change it from time to time.

it could be, you just don't understand what God is doing, and maybe you need to ask Him for understanding, and not send Condemnation, that will get you in trouble with God.

I was explaining What man does as far as Control, but you missed the point, that's your loss Dave, happy farming to you...

Dave I think that is what Joe is trying to do. Drive more away with his form of preaching. I find it offensive myself.

I don't know many people believers or not that haven't used the saying "rain rain go away...." I also know many who pray for rain when it is dry. Is this bad too? How is it wrong to pray for what you need or less of what you don't need anyway!

I sure do but where was the demand? I really don't even see a prayer, just a wish. "Rain rain go away.." has always been (in my mind) a wish.

Thanks onefarmer, a wish is a demand, although most don't see it that way, it's a weak demand, being that your not saying I demand,

if you play a game, and you want to win, you don't demand to win, but that's the point, you simply wish you could win,

If you have cancer, you wish to be well, you can't really demand to be well, but that's the point, if you could demand to be well, and succeed, you would demand that all the time, but because it's not up to you, you simply wish... got it now, maybe not, but at least I (wish) you could understand...

I think a wish is a wish not a demand. I pulled the below from,>Link

I>Link don't see anywhere that it says a wish is a demand. It says a wish is a desire for something. I wish for (desire) many things, but it is still not a demand, it is just a wish.

Wish

Pronunciation:ˈwish
Function:verb
Transitive verb

1: to have a desire for <wished he could live his life over>

2: to give expression to as a wish : bid <wish them good night>

3 a: to give form to (a wish) b: to express a wish for c: to request in the form of a wish : order d: to desire (a person or thing) to be as specified <cannot wish our problems away>

4: to confer (something unwanted) on someone : foist

Intransitive verb

1: to have a desire : want <wishing for more>

2: to make a wish <wish on a falling star>

Thanks onefarmer, it's all on how you look at it,

hope you never get cancer, but if you do, you will wish (DESIRE) not to have cancer, even though you have it, and if you would want it your way, you can wish (Desire) all you want, but you still have it,

on the other hand, when you have cancer, you could demand that it go away, but then, you also could wish that it go away, (Desire)

so in respect, a wish is a weak demand (or a Desire) ....just like I said...it all depend on how you look at it. just to be nice, I wish (Desire) you could understand, but If I demand that you understand, that would be a harsh desire, but yet if I wish (desire) you understand, that also is a hope for some thing uncontrollable from my stand point, just like a demand or Desire.
