I HAVE AN OLD CENTAUR TRACTOR THAT HAS A NEW-WAY ENGINE IN IT AND HAS GIANT ARMS FOR STEERING. I DON'T SEE A MODEL NUMBER ON THE VERY BADLY AGED PLAQUE, BUT IT DOES HAVE A S/N OF T1802. IT IS CHAIN DRIVEN AND HAS A PLOW ON IT AND STEEL WHEELS. IT ALSO SAYS ON THE PLAQUE THAT IT WAS MADE BY THE CENTRAL TRACTOR CO. OTHER THAN THIS THIS IS ALL I KNOW ABOUT THIS COOL OLD TRACTOR. AMY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREAT, THANKS-DAVE.

This is in return to David Cardoza. I too have a Centaur tractor with to steel wheels in front under the "New-Way" air cooled engine. Mine is dated 1923 at least I pretty sure it might be a 1924 with '23 parts. I don't have the sulky, but I do have the plow, which you could not have the sulky on when plowing, the plow attachment also had smaller steel wheels. I'm currently restoring the tractor.

Centaur was the name that the Leroi engine company used on their tractors. The old model had two steel drive wheels in front two sterring in back, and two cylinder leroi engine.Later ones where roadside mowers.I think i remember something like what you describe in one of my old books, hopefully i will get a chance to look later.
