Over We go | I guess I was about nine or ten. We were living across the road on from my Grandfather's smaller farm. My uncle was farming then as my dad went on to other employ. Well, my dad, uncle and grandfather were gone for the day so I decided to get out the Farmall H and go out to the field. Not having any real driving experience, I thought it would be easy getting up a small incline after opening the gate. I had presence of mind to turn off the tractor while parked on a hill but no skill for getting it started on said hill. Needless to say the clutch pulled a fast one on me and next thing I know I've got the front wheels about 2 feet off the gound going uphill. I pushed in the clutch, adjusted my underwear and drove the tractor back to the shed. I have two 'red' tractors now and if anyone wants to drive them I tell them that the wheels don't spin, the tractor turns over. That is usually enough.
