I did MANY of them when I worked for a Deere dealer. The recall involves all 450 series up to the "C" series, and also all the older 2010 crawlers that have the HL-R hydraulic transmission. It goes by serial number, and as far as I know, there is no expiration date on it. It all came about because of a class-action against Deere Company that involved several safety issues on many machines. One being the HL-R transmission taking off while in neutral, an another involved farm tractors that lost all steering and brakes when the engine stalled (.e.g the 2520, 3020, 4020, etc.) and also the lack of emergency/parking brakes. As the other guy mentioned, the HL-R update included several items depending on age and amount of linkage wear. Finished result was an "absolute" neutral position in the four speed gear/range transmission along with a wider neutral slot in the hydraulic shift valve for the HL-R trans.
