What about the location on the front axle as far as wheelbase is concerned? At the moment, it is as far forward as it can be in the frame rails.ChadS

Why not let it pivot and use a pair of coil springs at each side rail to keep the axle level when the front is in the air. The old Ford cars used a single centered leaf spring which would work as well on a solid axle. Back in the late 50"s when I was messin with stock cars I put a single leaf spring along with a ford axle on a 35 Chevy. What a wast of a good Chevy! That was not to keep the axle level but so I could use a jack screw to load one side more than the other on a circle track. I was after just the opposit that you want.

ATV or snowmobile struts on a pivoting axle would work well and look cool.

The jackscrew idea would work neat on a puller. Picture this: as you want to turn right the Right front wheel would push down loading the Left rear giving it more traction turning tractor to the right. Got ya thinking !!!! Now put hydraulic cylinders on each side with hydraulic lines connected to the power steering lines???? I"ve been thinking again Sorry!!
