M axles

You can do anything if you have a Farmall M. Our clubs M rear axel is leaking real bad, and we have some bearing noise to(in axle housing).This is the tractor that we use to mow with so I have to fix it right. I am planning to replace inner and outer bearing and seal.I will also check axle for wear. I am wondering if there are any other bearing that I should check at the same time that might have gone bad due to lack of lubrication. Has anyone else encountered this same problem? Is it a bad job to do, anything special to watch for? Thank you for your help and support
