hoof up positive ground as that is the way it is supposed to be your reg will not work as the reverse current coil is set for positive ground polarize the gen by touching bat ttterm to arm term just to draw a spark that is enough if it wont charge then ground the field if it still wont charge the gen is bad you have probably ruined the reg by using neg ground but you might have beenlucky
