Removing Touch Control

I bought a 1952 Super C a couple weeks ago and have gone through it and rebuilt the carb, ignition, generator, regulator, and replaced all the wiring. It starts and runs real nice. I plan to clean and paint it over the next few months. My question is about the touch control hydraulics. It is missing all the controls and levers probably because it doesn't work. I would like to remove it and get rid of it. It would bug me to have it there and not working. Has anyone ever done this? Any ideas on what I would use to cover the hole it will leave? It almost looks like the top plate on it might fit to cover the hole in the tranmission tube. By the way I do plan to add a 3 point hitch later but with its own pump and cylinder. From what I've read a touch control doesn't really have enough power for a 3 pt hitch anyway.
