IH 230 rebuild

I have a 57 IH 230. Ran a compression test and got 90-20-40-120. Small bit of coolant in the oilpan. Front seal leaks as well, needs a carb overhaul. Point being, it looks like I have a winter project. This will be a first for me. As I look through old posts, and links to this site, I see complete engine rebuild kits. My question, in part is, is it really necessary for me to replace pistons, sleeves and all. I realize that this will depend on what I find when i get the thing tore apart. I guess I am doing a preliminary inquiry to see just what I may be in for. This is a working tractor, and my only one, so I only want to have to do this major an operation one time. I have learned much by reading these posts here, and will definately be pestering you all here in a bit as I work up the nerve to tear into it. Any of you all familiar with 230's, any special problems with them, etc. I appreciate your responses.
