Please tell me you weren't running the motor on Diesel with the filter still missing! LOL! If there is not adequate fuel flow to bleed what you call the cannister (I forget what IH calls them), this could easily cause the miss you describe. Restore the fuel flow to normal before you go any further. This is an obvious problem that needs to be addressed. Just my humble opinion. Others' ideas may vary.
