Gas / Diesel Muffler Side?

Today walking through the shed i noticed that on my 54 SH, and 54 SMTA, that the muffler was on the clutch pedal side, then i looked at the 2 54 SMTA Diesels, and the 856D and they were on the brake pedal side. So does all the gas Farmalls have the muffler on the clutch pedal side and the Diesels on the brake pedal side?
