go to Auto Zone and ask to look at a Delco 10SI alternator off a 1976 chevy pickup truck. They have at internal voltage regulator and the alternator costs $35. It aint the smallest unit, but it is the least expensive and most common in the world. If you decide on it and need a wiring diagram, just ask.
