One is never too old to learn something. Last fall I pulled a corn wagon up the gangway into the barn with the M and shut her off. I decided that was a good place for the M for the winter.About three weeks ago it was time to put in hay and the wagon and M had to come out...no start. We left the M at the bottom of the gangway and I finally got around to it. We gave her a pull and had no spark. I pulled the magnito on Monday(holiday in Canada) and took some fine emery cloth to the points..bolted the mag back on and the M started to run on the second crank. I stood there listening to it feeling a pride of accomplishment and after about a minute the M sputtered and quit. I spent the next several minutes trying to figure out why it quit and checked the mag for tightness and movement...after scratching my head and pondering at length I turned the drain cock on the carb...no gas!!!That old M started on the second crank again..right after I put some gasoline in...dear old tractor of my Dad's..it still teaches me a few lessons from time to time.
