Does anyone know for sure if a 1947 Farmall A has a positive or a negitive ground. Because for at least 18 years this tractor has been used as a negitive ground tractor. If this is a positive ground tractor would this have damaged the engine or charging system? Since the starter would have been running in reverse could the engine even run back ward? Right now I am replacing the generator and regulator. But before I start the engine I need to know for sure if this is a negitive or positive ground tractor. So that I do not damage the new parts. I have scamatics on the wiring so that will not be a problem but the ground will be.
