Electric ? for Bob M or any one that can help

Went to borrow dads C today. Hadn't ran since before Christmas,Batt dead as expected.Tied it to the 4 wheeler and pulled it about 5 feet and it started right off. Running great but noticed that it was not charging. I thought that maybe the batt was so dead it couldn't send the current to excite the alt to start charging. Got it home and put the charger on it for about 6 hours. Now it sounds like the starter is just barely turning and no go. While on the charger the dummy light will come on when the key is on. I loaned out my volt meter so I guess this is my question. Do you think my 2 year old battery is bad or does it sound like a starter problem? Best I can tell all my connections seem OK. Kind of hope it's the starter"rebuild 2 years ago" cause that dumb battery is a pain to get out on the C's.Any thing I'm missing? Thanks in advance for any help.
